What does Lightning MD's acquisition by Elation Health mean for me moving forward? How can I get involved?

We’re guessing you heard the news - Lightning MD has been acquired by Elation Health, allowing us to create the best All-in-One system in the industry. But what does this mean for you? Below are some of the most commonly asked questions.


What is an All-in-One (AiO)?

An All-in-One (AiO) system means that the EHR and Practice Management softwares are closely linked and share patient and billing data, making revenue cycle management much easier. In short, when the provider signs a patient's visit note in the EHR, a new claim will be created in the billing software which can then be sent to an insurance company for payment. This AiO solution drastically streamlines the billing process, allowing providers and their offices to spend more time on providing care, all while making sure they get paid for services rendered!


I'm already using Elation's EHR. Will my Billing Software and EHR automatically integrate?

Will the cost of my current plan change?

There are no immediate price changes planned.


Will the Clearinghouse used by the Billing Software change?

No. We will be maintaining our relationship with Claim MD for the foreseeable future.


Will this interrupt my use of the Billing Software?

Absolutely not! While you will start to see our interface undergo a cosmetic facelift as we merge with Elation Health, the current layout and functionality will remain unchanged. Down the road, you can expect more exciting functionality and features added to the system.


What sort of changes will we be seeing in the Billing Software?

As we continue to develop with the support of a much larger team, you can expect to see quarterly releases of brand new Quality-of-Life features, alongside the improvement of functions already available. Basically we’ll do what we’ve always done; listen to you for the things that you want, and build them. One feature we're excited to be launching in the near future is the ability to see real-time estimates from the clearinghouse on how long each insurance enrollment will take. In the near future, you will see "Lightning MD" branding replaced with "Elation" inside the app.


How will I get Billing Software Support moving forward?

This process will remain unchanged. You can reach us through the handy Intercom chat bubble in the lower right corner of your Billing Software.
